Says Imran Ahmad
Staff Correspondent: Expatriates Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister Imran Ahmad said the current government will continue its zero-tolerance policy against all kinds of illegal activities including human trafficking.
He made the remarks in response to Bangladesh’s one-step improvement in the United States Trafficking in Persons (TIP) report. This information was given in a press release sent from the Ministry of Expatriate Welfare on Saturday.
Bangladesh has been removed from the ‘surveillance’ list as its one-step improvement in the report on human trafficking. Expressing satisfaction over the news, Minister for Expatriate Welfare and Overseas Employment Imran Ahmed thanked the Prime Minister.
He said this achievement of Bangladesh has been achieved due to the efficient leadership and timely guidance of Honorable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina against human trafficking. The revocation of licenses of recruiting agencies for illegal activities, the government’s nationwide campaign on safe immigration, and the activities of law enforcement agencies have played a significant role in this achievement.
