Staff Correspondent: Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said various plans are being taken to further improve of rail connectivity.
He added that various projects have already been undertaken in Noakhali for road communication and infrastructure development. Feni-Chaumuhani-Sonapur four-lane project is in progress.
The minister came up with the comments while inaugurating various development projects in his constituency in Noakhali in a video conference yesterday.
At that time, the bridge minister called upon the leaders and workers of the party to help and co-operate with the indigent and sick people of any party. He said power is not permanent, so do not abuse power. Be humble with people.
The general secretary of the Awami League again warned that the doors of the Awami League are closed forever for those who are involved with land grabbers, terrorists, extortionists and abusers of women.
“Almost everything has already been fulfilled as per the election promises in my constituency,” he said. Electricity has reached every house and gas will be supplied soon.
The bridge minister said besides widening the Daganbhuiyan-Basurhat-Kabirhat-Sonapur road, the bend of Kabirrahat-Sonapur road has been simplified. Referring to the BNP’s innate habit of
coming to power, Obaidul Quader said, “They (BNP) has chosen the path of fire and terror again to take revenge on the people after failing one movement after another.” Warning the BNP, Obaidul Quader said that burning people with gunpowder is a continuation of the BNP’s anti-politics. There is still time not to play with fire. The politics of destroying people’s lives and resources can lead to the untimely death of your politics to the people, he warned. Regarding the BNP’s threat to occupy the highways, the Bridges Minister said, “People have not leased the highways to you to take over. People know how to free the highways from misappropriation.”
