Shah Alam, Rangamati: Growers have witnessed a bumper yield of pineapple in advance in 1100 hectares of land in Rangamati. The bumper crop of pineapples brings smiles to the faces of the farmers. The price is much higher. So they are extremely happy. Naniarchar is the capital of pineapple in the hill district, locals say. Hundreds of hill Bengalis cultivate pineapple here every year. Krishna Prasad Mallick, deputy director of the Rangamati Agriculture Extension Department, said pineapple was cultivated in advance in the district in the last season of 2020 on 2130 hectares of land. This time pre-seasonal pineapple has been cultivated in approximately 1100 hectares of land. One type of vitamin is used to grow in advance pineapple cultivation. However, this vitamin is not so harmful to the human body. The Department of Agricultural Extension advises the farmers in this regard. In every upazila of the district, our sub-assistants provide overall support to the farmers.
